2. Let the Adventure Begin
Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our friendly team. Meet our beloved horses – Cookie, Dorita, Clio, Daisy, and their gentle companions – as well as our experienced guides. After a safety briefing and route explanation, it’s time to gear up with helmets and hop on your horse… Off we go!
Children under 7 ride with their guardian, while older children ride with a guide.
3. A Ride Through the Forest
Ride through lush green trails deep into the heart of the forest. Learn about the life of horses, their daily care, etc. Capture unforgettable moments with Meteora’s breathtaking rocks as your backdrop. The ride leads us to our truffle hunting location.
4. Truffle Hunting with a Specially Trained Dog
Meet the truffle hunter and their skilled canine partner – Benfra, Charlie, or Lara. And now, the hunt begins! Watch as the dog sniffs around, searching the earth. Suddenly it stops… digs… and a truffle is revealed! Joyfully rewarded, the dog continues the search. Throughout the experience, you’ll discover fascinating insights into the hidden world of truffles – their secrets and their culinary value. Once a few truffles are found, we head to the next stop: the tasting experience.
5. Mushroom Tasting
Delicious mushroom dishes await you, all created by the finest ingredients produced by the Museum itself, based on local recipes. Enjoy them paired with fine wines and unique refreshments. And the sweet finale? A Greek delicacy like no other: Mushroom Spoon Sweet – a dessert that captures the essence of Greece in every bite.
6. Cooking Fresh Truffle Pasta
As the tasting continues, fresh truffle pasta is cooked on the spot using the truffles just collected, along with wild mushrooms. Watch as a giant, custom-made cooking pan is brought out – big enough to prepare 50 servings! A unique meal follows, rich in flavors and earthy aromas that only truffles and mushrooms can offer.
Throughout the tasting experience, the horses remain nearby—always friendly and ready for you to get to know them better and take photos together.
7. Visit – Guided Tour to the Museum
The experience continues with a guided tour of the Museum. This engaging tour focuses on the region’s natural heritage and the fascinating world of mushrooms. Our knowledgeable staff are there to answer all your questions, rounding off a multisensory experience that delights both mind and soul.
8. The Mushroom Gift Shop
The Museum’s gift shop awaits you! Dozens of mushroom and truffle products, created with passion by the Museum, are available so you can take the taste of the experience home. You’ll also find a wide variety of souvenirs to remind you of this unforgettable adventure. Oh—and don’t forget! Your friends will be thrilled if you surprise them with a gift from your journey!
