Cyclades & Crete Helicopter Island-Hopping
Private helicopter routes from Athens to Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Milos and Paros, designed for faster transfers and a more fluid Greek island itinerary.
Private helicopter routes from Athens to Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Milos and Paros, designed for faster transfers and a more fluid Greek island itinerary.
The Greek Islands are made for movement, yet summer travel between them can quickly become slow, fragmented and dependent on public ferry schedules. A private helicopter route offers a more refined way to travel across the Aegean, with departure times shaped around the itinerary and transfers measured in minutes.
Our Cyclades & Crete Helicopter Island-Hopping service is designed for travellers who want to connect Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Milos and Paros with greater ease, privacy and continuity. The journey can be arranged as a complete island-hopping sequence, a shorter private transfer, or a fully reshaped route according to villa stays, yacht embarkations, hotel arrivals, celebrations or family travel.
Suggested Route
The sample route connects six of Greece’s most compelling destinations:
Athens → Mykonos → Santorini → Crete → Milos → Paros
This sequence can be followed as presented, shortened, extended or redesigned entirely around the traveller’s plans.
Compared with ferry travel, the helicopter version can reduce total transfer time significantly. On the suggested route, estimated ferry transfers amount to approximately 12 hours 45 minutes, while helicopter transfers take approximately 3 hours 20 minutes, saving around 9 hours 25 minutes, subject to weather and operational conditions.
Helicopter Fleet
Aircraft options may include:
AS365
H135
H120
Final aircraft selection depends on distance, passenger number, luggage, aircraft availability, weather, landing permissions and operational suitability.
These helicopters are suited to point-to-point island transfers, short Aegean sectors and routes where time, privacy and direct access are essential. For families, couples, small private groups and villa or yacht guests, helicopter travel also adds a rare visual dimension: the Aegean seen from above, with coastlines, calderas, volcanic islands and Cycladic villages forming part of the journey itself.
Destinations
Athens
Most Greek island itineraries begin in the capital. Athens offers a natural cultural opening before continuing across the islands, with the Acropolis, Monastiraki, Psyrri and the city’s dining scene providing a strong first chapter.
Mykonos
The flight from Athens to Mykonos takes approximately 45 minutes by helicopter, compared with around 2 hours 40 minutes by ferry. Mykonos remains one of the Cyclades’ most established addresses, known for beach clubs, nightlife, Chora’s whitewashed streets, 16th-century windmills and the Little Venice waterfront.
Santorini
The helicopter sector from Mykonos to Santorini takes approximately 30 minutes, compared with around 2 hours by ferry. Santorini is defined by its caldera, the villages of Oia and Fira, volcanic beaches and Assyrtiko wineries. Arrival by helicopter offers a striking aerial view of the caldera’s scale.
Crete
The Santorini to Crete helicopter flight takes approximately 45 minutes, while ferry times vary and may reach around 2 hours 30 minutes. Greece’s largest island can be shaped around ancient history, Chania’s Venetian harbour, Elafonissi, Balos Lagoon or the Samaria Gorge.
Milos
The Crete to Milos sector is approximately 55 minutes by helicopter, compared with around 4 hours 40 minutes by ferry. This is one of the clearest examples of the time saved by helicopter travel. Milos is known for more than 75 beaches, volcanic landscapes, Sarakiniko and the sea caves of Kleftiko.
Paros
The Milos to Paros helicopter flight takes approximately 25 minutes, compared with around 1 hour 45 minutes by ferry. Paros offers Cycladic character with a softer rhythm, from Parikia and Panagia Ekatontapiliani to the dining scene and fishing-village atmosphere of Naoussa.

Exclusive Elite Travel Perspective
A Greek island journey often depends on the details between destinations. The right hotel, villa, guide, beach club or yacht itinerary can lose rhythm when transfers become long or rigid. Helicopter access protects the pace of the journey and gives the traveller a more coherent experience across the Aegean.
For Exclusive Elite Travel clients, this product is best suited to refined summer itineraries where time, privacy and geography matter: Athens with the Cyclades, Mykonos with Santorini, Crete with Milos, or a fully private island sequence shaped around the traveller’s own rhythm.
A helicopter route begins with the islands, the dates and the number of passengers. From there, aircraft suitability, luggage, landing permissions and onward transfers are aligned with discretion.
